Black dogs (song2)

The horizon underwent the assaults of the morning
The ocean is pale, its shadows greet me
Bursts of laughter fly away, the foam escorts us
I waited a hundred days for your voice to reach me,
Today I play whist with the dawn, chess with the Gods
I am a thirsty sailor, a chimeric captain,
Love is my promised land, honor my government

Drowning in an ocean of doubts,
The waves chalking out the sunlight
My swimwear disappeared into icy waters
It was the darkest glow of the morning aurore
And I have tried so hard to join the shores
The hellish shores of my happening nightmare
I ran on the quicksand like a madman, like an actor
Like a movie hero without a director
Like a Capitain without sight of a land
Someone was hiding behind me, someone stand
Laughing in this oceanic realm
And then I saw near the palms
Spying behind my back
Black dogs running to me in a crimson attack
I tried to stroke the head of the first black dog
But he bit me hard and my doomed blood turned black
He bit me carefully until my pain felt unreal,
His eyes were yellow yet surreal

The horizon underwent the assaults of the morning
The ocean is pale, its shadows greet me
Bursts of laughter fly away, the foam escorts us
I waited a hundred days for your voice to reach me,
Today I play whist with the dawn, chess with the Gods
I am a thirsty sailor, a chimeric captain,
Love is my promised land, honor my government

Since this first encounter
I have slept every day, like a working uptowner
Black dogs nightmared my past, devoured my ambition
Running in the midst of my past, like an upset passion
They ransacked every opened doors, they had my friend silenced
I nearly drown in darkness, after my eyes bleached ;
But every morning ripped me to my distress
I took my scars to every corner of the earth
I even met a priest, he was ruling an army of quiet dresses
I told him about my black dog scars, and he laughed like a fool
For black dogs had bitten him too I suppose
Now tell me priest, you are laughing, what did I do ?
Did I deserve to be put on a boat, gliding on the emptiness
Did I deserve the hopefulness, did I deserve the jails?
The priest vanished, no answer has he given me
For I am a middle-town anybody and him a bitten God

Our curses haunt our souls, like priests haunt altars
Despair tears our souls, black dogs shape our nightmares
But take my hand my love, in this deserted poetry
I’m telling you a secret I am gifting you a secrecy
No matter how black our bloods may become
Until you are not attacked in the night of a middle-town
And guess the outcome? I met a writer, down to a rose garden
He went crazy when I showed him my soul’s golden valley
I told him Gods inhabit my most bright fantasies
He went crazy and vanished, he did not like me it seems
On the shores of my misery, I was wearing no swimwear
Black dogs appeared on the beach, tearing pink clouds
Each joining their screams in a pristine nightmare
One bit me hard, this time my eyes were yellow yet hopeful
He bit me and my doomed blood turned black I recall

The horizon underwent the assaults of the morning
The ocean is pale, its shadows greet me
Bursts of laughter fly away, the foam escorts us
I waited a hundred days for your voice to reach me,
Today I play whist with the dawn, chess with the Gods
I am a thirsty sailor, a chimeric captain,
Love is my promised land, honor my government
